90-MINUTE AI WORKSHOP

From AI confusion
to real usage.
In 90 minutes.

Your team moves from “we’ve tried ChatGPT once or twice” to actually using AI in their day-to-day work. Hands-on, non-technical, built for the people who do the job — not the IT department.

WHY A WORKSHOP

Most teams have “tried AI.” Very few are actually using it.

Somebody on the team opened ChatGPT once, got a generic answer, and closed the tab. Somebody else is quietly using it every day but won’t tell anyone. Meanwhile the rest of the team is watching the hype, feeling behind, and not sure where to start.

Ninety minutes, hands-on, with a simple framework and real examples from their actual work — and most people leave using AI the same afternoon. Not theoretical. Not a keynote. A working session.

🎯

What participants walk away with

Four concrete outcomes. Not a vibe. Not “AI awareness.”

OUTCOME 1

A clear understanding of how AI saves time in their role

Not “AI for business” in the abstract. Specific places in their actual workweek — email triage, drafting proposals, research, meeting notes — where AI is the obvious move.

OUTCOME 2

The SMART framework for consistently better results

A simple, memorable way to structure any prompt — so the difference between a vague answer and a useful one stops being luck.

OUTCOME 3

2–3 concrete use cases they can apply the next day

Built during the workshop, from their real work. Not examples from somebody else’s industry. Things they can open their laptop Tuesday morning and actually do.

OUTCOME 4

Confidence using AI as a day-to-day assistant

The shift from “I should probably learn this” to “this is a tool I use, like email.” That’s the whole goal.

PRIMARY OUTCOME

“I understand how AI can help me in my job — and I have a simple way to start using it immediately.”

📋

What we cover

Four topics. Ninety minutes. No filler.

1

How to think about AI (beyond the hype)

What these tools actually are, what they’re good at, and what they’re bad at. A 10-minute mental model so the rest of the hour makes sense.

2

Why AI is a communication skill — not a technical one

The people who get the best results aren’t engineers. They’re the ones who can explain what they want clearly. This part lands hardest for non-technical teams.

3

The SMART framework: Set → Make → Architect → Refine → Tighten

A repeatable five-step method for building prompts that get useful answers on the first try. The backbone of the session — and the thing everyone takes home.

4

Live, step-by-step prompt building

Watching it happen, then doing it themselves. Using real tasks from their own work, not contrived examples from a slide deck.

THE HANDS-ON HALF

Progressive Prompting Exercise

Participants build prompts in real time using the SMART framework — starting vague, then layering in specifics. They see the difference between a vague ask and a high-quality ask instantly, on their own screen, with their own work.

This is the part people remember. It’s also why workshops run 50–70% hands-on — because nobody learns AI by watching someone else use it.

VAGUE PROMPT →

“Write me an email to a client.”

SMART PROMPT →

“Draft a short email to a client who missed a payment deadline by 5 days. Friendly tone, first reminder, no late fees yet. Sign off as our accounts team. Under 100 words.”

Same model. Same 30 seconds. Two completely different outputs.

WHO IT’S FOR

Non-technical teams who need AI to be practical — not theoretical.

Marketing teams. Operations people. Nonprofit staff. Small-business owners and their teams. Anyone whose job involves words, decisions, research, or client communication — which is most jobs.

  • Teams of 5–25 who mostly work with words and process
  • Organizations where “we should probably use AI” keeps coming up
  • Nonprofits looking to stretch a small team further
  • Agencies and service businesses worried about falling behind
  • Teams where one or two people use AI and the rest don’t
  • Leaders who want a shared language around AI, not just tools

Common questions

Is 90 minutes really enough?
It’s enough to get your team using AI, which is the hard part. It’s not enough to make anyone an expert — nobody claims that. The point is to get over the “where do I start” wall in one sitting, and give people a framework they can keep getting better with. Teams that want to go deeper typically book a follow-up session 4–6 weeks later once everyone’s had a chance to actually use what they learned.
Do we need to prep anything beforehand?
Almost nothing. Participants should bring a laptop and access to one AI tool (ChatGPT free is fine). We’ll ask you a few questions about your team ahead of time — what they do, what’s draining their week — so the examples during the workshop are from your world, not ours.
What if half our team is already using AI and half isn’t?
That’s actually the most common mix, and the workshop is built for it. The framework is new to everyone — even daily users usually don’t have a structured way of prompting. The people already using AI often get the most out of it, because they finally have a shared language with their teammates.
Can you do this for a specific department or topic?
Yes. The 90-minute format stays the same, but we tailor the examples and the hands-on exercise to the team — marketing, fundraising, operations, customer service, etc. Tell us during the intake call and we’ll shape it around them.
In-person or Zoom — does it matter?
Both work. In-person has slightly better energy for the hands-on portion because people look over each other’s shoulders, which is useful. Zoom works well for distributed teams and is often more practical. We’ll tell you if we think your team would be better served one way or the other, based on size and setup.
We already had an “AI training” from our IT vendor. How is this different?
Most IT-led sessions cover tools and security — what’s allowed, what isn’t, which subscription you have. That’s valuable, but it’s not the same as teaching people how to actually get useful work out of AI. This workshop picks up where that one ends: not which tool, but how to use it.
What if we want to go further afterward?
Some teams book a follow-up session. Some move into an AI Audit to map out where automation could save real hours. Some just take what they learned and run with it. There’s no pressure and no upsell during the session — the workshop is the workshop, and it stands on its own.
